Voclatec Softswitch runs on Amazon EC2

VocalTec had recently announced that the Essentra BAX - Voclatec's class-5 softswitch is available on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) environment.

This is very exciting news. The Amazon EC2 platform is one of the most advanced hosting platforms out there, and running your softswtich on such a reliable hosting platform can save service providers a lot of money.

More than that, running a softswitch on the ELASTIC cloud computing system means that you don't need to waste a lot of money for the NewYearsEve peak and have your servers nearly idle throughout the rest of the year. You can assign the exact amount of resources you need to start and allocate more CPUs when you know that the system is going to be over loaded.

The best option is to let the system allocate resources automatically, I'm sure they will get there.
